vicks7, may I humbly suggest you look into an AC regenerator like the PS Audio Powerplants. Even with a dedicated line you are at the mercy of the ac power quality coming into your home. A dedicated line can't fix noisy or inconsistent power coming in. I just installed the Powerplant P3 into my modest system and frankly I am shocked at the improvement. Everything is more clear, I hear more detail, music sounds more realistic. It is as if I upgraded my entire system. My only regret is waiting so long to get the P3.

Thanks Tboooe. Do the PS Audio Powerplants do similar things to the Purepower products? It seems there are mixed views on these forums as to the benefits of power conditioning and many have said that installing balanced power through a dedicated line is a better option. I know very little on the subject but I am trying to educate myself in order that I can make the right choice. The team at Audiopax came to my home a few weeks ago when they delivered the final versions of the Audiopax Maggiore M100 SET monoblocks and we set up a "temporary" dedicated line from the fuse panel in my apartment and the difference was astoundingly good.

I spoke to the designers at Mark Levinson and Simaudio and they both said to avoid power conditioning. Both manufacturers build substantial power regulation into their equipment and do not require additional power filtration. Their equipment is designed to be plugged directly into the wall. I bet your high end equipment designers would tell you something similar (and would be happy to answer your questions in this regard).

I guess if your home power doesn't provide adequate voltage you might consider a power regenerator but otherwise I think you're on the right track.

The one thing that did help in my system was isolating the my Meridian Sooloos MS600 digital front end from the rest of my system by adding power filtration between that particular component and my power bar. I found it was adding noise to the power supply of my system.

Thanks Camb and yes, Audiopax did recommend not using any power conditioner. However, because of the particular design of the amplifiers, they operate better on a balanced power supply using separate phases (whatever that means) and they have strongly recomended that I run a dedicated line from my apartment's panel. As a result, I wanted to find a high quality power strip that could receive this dedicated line for the monoblocks and for the powered subwoofers on the MMTwo speakers.

If I had the scratch and just based on reviews, I'd seriously consider the Acoustic Revive rtp-6 ultimate. They used passive emi/rfi filtering, pay fanatic attention to vibration control, use high quality Oyaide R-1 outlets and do turn up used occasionally.
