Sonically, live "Hell Freezes Over" is amazing. Songs on "Desperado" are great - as with other albums. Curious where you're coming from.

Some just like to disparage acts that have huge commercial success. I haven't heard the new album but would not be surprised if it falls short of the original recordings. It's difficult to stay fresh after 35 years.
