Black-Eyed-Peas, the future of modern music?

I saw the Black Eyed Peas in PA last night and all I can say is WOW. The whole production was over the top with a futuristic Science Fiction vibe. The music was like no other with so many influences its hard to classify as any one style.
The bottom end literally moved my hair and clothes.
The audience was a wide variety of fans. Many parents brought their children, 10,11 years old. The crowd was white, black, Asian, young, old (me) and happy.
I recommend you go see this show when the opportunity presents itself. It is history in the making.

>>The best measure of success is longevity."
No doubt.
But can't apply that criteria to current acts quite yet without a crystal ball of some kind.<<

Well then, I'm glad we both agree your position about record and/or ticket sales is irrelevant. See Andy Gibb, David Cassidy, Debbie Gibson, etc. as other good examples of where you were.

Nice to see you're thinking more clearly.

Congrats.
The music, Anthem, commercials all sucked IMO, the pre game video clips by Sam Elliot and Michael Douglas were over the top aswell. But Steelers lost so all is well!
Steelers fans look like bumblebees with bad shaves, and the men look even worse.
I was disappointed with CA's national anthem.

BEPs performance was about what I expected, at least when the mikes were working.

As one local reviewer pointed out, at least BEPs actually attempted to perform their stuff in that environment rather than lip synch. SO they should get some credit for that.

However, performances of teh national anthem should be held to the highest standards at a landmark symbolic event like the Super Bowl. No excuses for anything less than perfection there ever!!!!
They should just play a tape of Whitneys Anthem during Desert Sheild/storm and be done with it.
PEP on the other did sing live but if you listened close you could hear autotune being turned on while they were talking.........premature launch of it but you could hear it for a second.
Sad that they had to load the show with lights and dancers, I guess its like magic act, distract the audience with one thing while hiding another (in this case they were trying to hide lack of talent).
Sa for CA, nerves must be a bitch but she is payed for this and its not like she has never done it before, prepare and be prepared, or do what others do a lipsync.
"close you could hear autotune being turned on while they were talking"

It's no secret that a lot of modern pop music uses this technology.

So what if the act is electronically enhanced? That's progress.

It beats lip-synching and pretending to sing completely which has been going on for decades.
