Favorite Female vocals that give you goose bumps

My current favorites are Eva Cassidy's "The water is wide" and "Autumn Leaves", Kiki Dee's "Take my breath away" and Ella Fitzgerald's "Angel eyes" and "Lush life".

Although not a fan of her genre of music, the "goosebumps" label was applied to my backside by Laura Branigan. An '80's backup singer of Leonard Cohen with a 4 octave range, she was more popular overseas than in the US. But her voice could cause a mummy to stir and she still finds my rotation every month or so. Check out the Youtube video of her "Self Control" video, banned by MTV for awhile for being too sensual. (Too Sensual!!, have you seen what's on MTV!)
Nina Simone, Mavis Staples, Patti Smith, Janis Joplin... (come to think about it a lot of them do)
Early Joan Baez on Vangaurd - half the reason I resurrected my analog system a couple of months ago -CD transfers either aren't available or not quit equal to the LP's. Simply astonishing voice. The funny thing is I'm still digging thru the LP pile looking for the rest of these - keep getting pleasantly distracted by "Hot S%^t - haven't heard this in 10+ years" moments - onto the TT it goes.Shows a lack of discipline - but what joy!
