I need to make to more shelves for my rack. One for my CD and one for the preamp. I use Vibrapods under each unit. Is MDF or plywood better for sound quality or vibration control? Thanks
MDF will be better than plywood. If you want to spend more you can find a Lumber Liquidators and get maple butcher block. I believe it comes in 8' and 12' lengths by 24" wide.
franco, mdf will be a better choice for you but for not much more money solid spring maple would put your components in a much better situation to reveal the music... If you have the Vibrapods so much the better! Good luck, Azjake
