sub woofer amp hot on Vandersteen 5a's

So hot that it is uncomfortable for me to keep my hand on the fins of the amps after they have been going for awhile. Is this normal?

Simple solution....dont leave your hands on there and then it wont be uncomfortable.

You left the door open on that one and surprised others havent commented on this yet.

But getting back to your question, what volume levels are you listening at when you notice this ?

Just using the hand touch as a reference. Moderate to loud levels.

if you are playing at loud volumes for a while and then turn the volume to normal listening does the amp remain warm to the touch or does it cool down ?
