Thinking about upgrading, but wondering about diminishing returns 1. I’d definitely keeps the Oak’s as a finished system item then add either AQ Fire or Wind ic’s.A substatial improvement will be gained using PSS vs copper. Huge. You’ll get more transparency and detail with smoothness. You will never go back. Ni...
ARC Ref 5se inferior to LS28? very reasoned opinion. need more like this. so much money is paid for a “difference” sometimes its just that. a difference. might be better..might not
For the rest of my life Ypsilon or Luxman? agostino. ss not going to get meaningfully better anytime soon. used monos seem to price better than stereo units probably due to space requirements. also they are audio jewelry that are and will be classics. dan is a legend. imho
Does anyone care to ask an amplifier designer a technical question? My door is open. i’m late to thread but have a perplexing question. i own an expensive ss amp and leave it on 24/7.i could turn it off when i’m not going to use it for a few hours as well as overnight. for amp longevity what is best? thanks
Gryphon vs Swiss solid state amps and preamps. And integrateds. Dartzeel is a great one to compare to.
Whats the FATTEST sounding Tube amp to warm up Lean speakers? just had a thought. a used accuphase integrated amp would give you tone controls almost guaranteed to be centered at 100hz(bass control)which is ideal for midbass enhancement. overall going to sound great as well.
Whats the FATTEST sounding Tube amp to warm up Lean speakers? may not suit you but the price of ARC ref75’s on audiogon have to be one of the best deals i’ve seen. a truly great tube amp with plenty of mojo.i’m no ARC fanboy but bought one to try out and very impressed and i’ve had some great amps. btw movin...
Whats the FATTEST sounding Tube amp to warm up Lean speakers? just an opinion but i’d personally move into a more neutral loudspeaker opening up countless electronic choices. i don’t think trying to fatten up a 6.5” driver is a great idea but we’re all different. fwiw
Revel F228BE when you see the quality of the materials and workmanship of revel you should understand that because of economies of scale and us labor costs they could not be made in usa at their very aggressive prices. i’m not sure that anything can compete at...
best preamps Incomplete without mentioning Luxman C-900u. In addition the ML 523 is superlative. The designers of these two units spared no expense in these two awesome units and sonically it shows. Anyone would find happiness here.
D'Agastino Momentum vs Dartzeel NHB108 another vote for luxman
ARC Ref 75se owners how often are you guys having to solder in a resistor? ever blown a driver w this amp?
ARC Ref 75se owners great to hear. i’m excited
Power cords I’m going to give great advice that would serve ‘me’ well. You love what you have so changing cords, not mentioning cost, is not a good idea.At first you’ll listen more intently ‘ hearing things you’ve never heard before’ then find something that’...
Which subwoofers have at least a 20k input impedance as required for ARC preamp Al: I wish I had your knowledge. I’m too simple on audio and don’t want to go a little funky or compromise in any way if I was buying uber ARC products. That’s my problem. |
