HIGH Quality Electric Service Panel
There is the Isoclean Zero Ohm breaker panel, but I’m not sure if they make it anymore since it’s not listed in their current products (used pure copper elements and gold plating). At $5k, I don’t think it’s in your budget, since balanced power is...
Sharing One Pre Out
I would try using the XLR balanced outputs for the Nuprime amp and using the RCA outputs for the sub.  It looks like the Oppo HA-1 has separate opamp output buffers for both the RCA and XLR outputs, so this should not present a problem at all.http...
Denon 4520CI + 4806 combo as pre-pro and power amp
Check out the Marantz receivers.  They generally sound very good.  You can get a previous generation still new-in-box from some sellers.  For example, Crutchfield has a SR6010 on sale for $999.  It has 2 HDMI outputs.
Denon 4520CI + 4806 combo as pre-pro and power amp
I agree with willland in the fact that you should sell the 4806 and put that toward a beefy amp (you can even look into a 5 channel amp).  Yes, you could use the 4520CI + 4806 in the scenario that the original owner did.  Sounds like he had the 48...

That's awesome!  I'm glad the Classe worked out.
Sacramento, California
Hey, I'm in Tracy, which is about 1.5 hours directly south of Sac.  I'd be willing to meet local audiophiles.
Since Krell 302e & Cary SPL-05 have (gain/imp issues) what tube pre is best w/ the krell?
I would actually look at the Krell 202 or 222 preamps (even an older Krell KAV-280p is nice, but doesn't have the power supply of the 202/22).  The Krell's bipolar Class A gain circuits give you a nice sweet sound but still have the slam/punch/imm...

I was just looking around and came across this Classe CA-5200. It is twice as much as your budget (around $2k), but it has a shared power supply twice as large as the CA-5100 -- at 200w/ch 8ohm, 375w/ch @ 4ohm. It’s expensive, but if you were liki...
Sub woofer
I have not heard either the Martin Logon or the JL Audio subs, but based on testing and experiments with subs in my own room, I do have some comments.Yes, Erik is right that room acoustics can play into subwoofer quality, but I think it will take ...

Thanks for your additional comments, Eric.  It may be that the newer ICE and ncore amps work better with difficult speaker loads.  I did some quick browsing on ICEpower and nCore.  One of the things that stood out was that nCore was designed to re...
Need Advice on Multi-channel Amp Choices.
This was 7-8 years ago when me and my cousin were into Class D amps for a while. ICE and Hypex UCD were the only two. We were using the Channel Island which had the Hypex UCD - we chose that for some reason I can’t remember (it may have been the d...

I don't know if you have seen this page, but it is definitely a lot of reading and feedback for you:http://www.humblehomemadehifi.com/Cap.html
Need Advice on Multi-channel Amp Choices.
@erik_squires - yes, I do agree with all your points on multi-channel amps. It is, basically, a compromise to get 5 or 7 channels into a single device and still perform -somewhat- well. The Monitor Audio speakers are 4 ohm, which will make it more ...
Need Advice on Multi-channel Amp Choices.
@erik_squires - why are you suspicious of multi-channel amps?  Is it because of the shared power supply?I would probably not look at the AudioControl amp because it's Class H.  They are usually used in pro-audio where it requires a very high power...
Voltage regulator in the power chain
Yeah, I think the APC is going to be the weak link in your system.  It's really designed for keeping constant voltage for computer type systems (which can crash or error if voltage drops from a brownout).  It's probably has highly switching circui...
