Do I NEVER shut it off…?
@terry9 "Accepted science" requires proof, not conjecture. Science and the scientific method REQUIRES healthy skepticism, not blind acceptance. (Think of how dangerous pharma could become without healthy skepticism and hard proof.) Every man-made ...
Do I NEVER shut it off…?
@terry9 Science and math is not political.  Going against science and math is political.I'm tightly aligned with science and math.  With which group are you aligned?
Do I NEVER shut it off…?
All this bs about energy consumption is not based on ANY science on this planet at any level or any narrative.  Are there any rational people that actually believe that something like climate change could actually be caused by man?  That is so stu...

@ asiaaudiosoc7 - 1) Could you please cite examples of amps burning down residential houses.  Provide links for articles specifically noting the cause of the residential fire that destroyed a home was a high end audio amplifier.  2) There's no nee...
Need some advise please on a 30 year old system
The IRS Beta's are not worth a plug nickel.  If they're still working, I'll be by to pick them up and won't even charge you for hauling them away.
Old Amps that can still Kick Butt
Sorry, I meant DH-220, not DH-110.

I had a few drinks and bought some speakers, I've now sobered up
NEVER TRUST YOUR EARS WHEN YOU'RE UNDER THE INFLUENCE.  Upper midrange and above frequency balance is skewed and perception is not as keen with alcohol coursing through you veins.  Always best to do audio evaluation completely sober.  Once the sys...
Speaker size and soundstage
There are a couple of items for comment.  First is room acoustics.  It's probably the most critical component in soundstage.  A well-tuned room is both the starting point and the finishing effort in any listening environment from the basement cave...
My experience with bi-wiring
I have tri-amped, bi-amped and had various setups of bi-wiring.  The current setup is a sorta hybrid bi-wire.  Works good. But from a marketing perspective:bi-wire typically means buy wirebi-amp means buy amps
Which Phono Pre?
I guess that shouldn't be a surprise.
Which Phono Pre?
Why did you NOT include Herron VTPH-2A?  Aren't you looking for top performance?
Stratospheric audio gear prices
I've heard that from the perspective of many high-end manufacturers and dealers, the best way to make a small fortune in audio is to start with a large fortune.
Stratospheric audio gear prices
I suggest the OP just go buy a boat.  It will cost more to purchase and maintain,  and provide less personal enjoyment.
