TT Speed Control/ Phoenix Roadrunner and Eagle Review
I stand corrected.  The Eagle power supply does include a voltage reduction after the platter has reached normal operating speed.
TT Speed Control/ Phoenix Roadrunner and Eagle Review
Though speed stability is very important (who wants wow?), in my opinion, what is really needed is voltage reduction to minimize the synchronous pulse noise from the motor.   I use a $60 Variac on an original VPI Aries.  I start the table on 120v....
Linn sondek vs sme
tzh21y - Nothing wrong with the VPI arms.  It's users that claim there is a problem because they don't know how to use the VPI pivoted arm.  Or you can just invest in a Jelco SA-750 (name your length) and have a good-working pivoted arm that will ...

Was the comparison made by Pete Townsend?
Turntable for life
It appears that the VPI Prime might fit the bill for a table for life.  It's a very good performer today.  VPI has a great track record for providing meaningful upgrades to keep their tables performing strongly in the future.
Rega RP8 and alternatives in $3000-4000 range
The VPI Prime is right in your budget.  I have not compared it to the Classig Sig, but a lot of people really like it.
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
Rob - Why even consider the Rega? It just doesn't seem like a logical choice. Have you thought about getting a Classic Sig and adding a second arm / cart combo? That would give you variation. Maybe use a mono cart on the second arm.
Rega RP10 vs. VPI Classic Signature
Gshep - Wouldn't a better option for a second table would be a VPI Prime? Is there ANY Rega that could better a Prime? Seriously?

VPI Prime. Buy it and don't look back. Second choice is a VPI Classic. IMO, I haven't heard any serious tables in the same price ranges as the various Rega tables that doesn't better the Regas. Just my opinion. YMMV.
MRA : Myth or Menace?
MRA = Mold Release Agent. Though in observing the vinyl stamping process, there appears to be nothing used as a mold release agent to help the record easily separate from the stamper, some feel that there are some additives present in the raw viny...
Cleaning records. How often really?
Ct0517 - All that desert air would be great for a turntable if it wasn't for all that static electricity from that dry air. Your tonearm and knees may love that desert air, but....

inna - why the insults and condescending remarks?
MRA : Myth or Menace?
If mold release was actually used in the record stamping process, could someone provide a reference. I have NEVER seen mention of any kind of mold release agent or stamper release material being used in the process.

String - Is peanut butter a problem at your place. ;-)

Inna - Why do you use LAST? And why do you think I should leave this thread?
