B&W speakers sounding very harsh? I use a Classe delta series amp with my B&W speakers and they sound great together. I think Rotel, although good for the money, has a reputation to be bright. A lot of people like to pair B&W speakers wit McIntosh amps as well.
Bowers and Wilkins 800 Series Discontinued? Yep, I agree. I have the 802d3’s and find them very balanced. I know a lot of people disliked the old yellow Kevlar mid range on the prior series. I think those could possibly sound bright at times if improper or weak amplification was used.
Adding Home Theater To 2 Channel System Yes, in a perfect world, 2 separate systems is the way to go. For some people, this is not always practical due to cost and/or space issues, I am a 2 channel guy, but love listening to my many Blu-ray concerts that sound much more spacious in 5.1
Adding Home Theater To 2 Channel System I am using a Classe Sigma processor that I can put in digital bypass when playing 2 channel music with my Lumin T2 streamer. In bypass mode, the full analog signal bypasses all processing and the Classe acts as a good analog preamp. Gives me the...
Can a Classe SSP replace a dedicated stereo pre? Agree with jakesnack. You will be happy with the 2 channel performance of the Classe Sigma SSP. Although there might other options for home theatre processing, I am more than happy with the 5.1 surround sound quality as well.
Bobby Whitlock on All Things Must Pass. Yes those albums were remixed by Giles Martin.
Can a Classe SSP replace a dedicated stereo pre? @jakesnap. Actually the Classe uses a Wolfson 8741 chip.
Can a Classe SSP replace a dedicated stereo pre? I have the Classe Sigma SSP Mkii and am really happy with it. I am primarily 2 channel but have a 5.1 system for music concerts and movies. I don’t want anything more than 5.1, but it can handle 7.1. The DAC is excellent, but I have recently been ...
Fort Wayne, IN Hello Scottdog,I would love to hear about your system. I have B&W speakers, Classe amps and prepro, and JL Audio sub. Pretty happy in Fort Wayne.
B&W 803 vs. 804 You picked up a 19 year old thread that discussed B&W speakers from several generations ago. The latest series (d3), are much more expensive.
B&W HTM1D3 vs HTM2D3 I appreciate the offer, but I ended up trading in my HTM2 for the HTM1 in Rosewood.
Upgraded amp for B&W 802d3 Thanks everyone for sharing your vast knowledge. I did not realize class A amps made so much difference. I will look into all the amps suggested.
B&W 802 d3 vs 803 d3 Yeah, I did not plan very well. I had the 804d2’s for about 5 years when I upgraded to the 803D3 in 2016. The 804’s I purchased were dealer floor models and got them for a good price. I did take a bit of a hit on my 803’s, however. The 802’s ...
B&W 802 d3 vs 803 d3 I upgraded from the 803D3 to the 802D3 about 6 months ago. I was a little unsure about upgrading as I did like the 803D3’s sound and I felt they were a big upgrade compared to my prior 804D2’s. However, I thought the 802D3’s were another big step ...
Upgraded amp for B&W 802d3 So with going with an amp with high current as opposed to watts, would this mean an amp with m high class A output? |
