A Few Nice Words For Upscale Audio
I've had a Pathos Classic One MK lll for over 7 years and have no desire to change, very quiet, plenty of power and lots of inputs. In my opinion, it sounds great.
Would you buy a pair of speakers by just looking at the measured freq. response?
No, almost a meaningless stat.
Vinyl Records - Shipping, max/min temperatures
I would consider strapping them to a pallet, surround them with heavy duty clear plastic wrap and ship them freight. Cold weather should not be a problem, however hot weather might be. https://www.cratersandfreighters.com/

Extension cord advice
It all depends on if you can hear it or not. Try plugging the turntable & phono preamp into an extension cord only and see if you can detect additional noise. Depending on the design & quality of your preamp, it might be dead quiet with ei...
Extension cord advice
Here are the only advantages over an extension cord. 6 outlets that are circuit breaker protected and EMI/RFI noise attenuation.
Extension cord advice
Are you using a Furman extension cord or a Furman conditioner? If just a cord, since it is just for your turntable & phono preamp, you don't need a heavy gauge cord. Just get a lighter gauge cord (maybe shielded) that will please your wife.
Is toeing speakers a bad idea?
I have found that toeing in speakers benefit the listener more in smaller rooms than in larger rooms, especially in near field listening.
Building a dedicated listening room
When I had my dedicated room years ago I put in a  dedicated 20 amp circuit and ran 10 gauge Romex to three, quad (2 duplex outlets) spaced along the equipment wall. I know that seems like too many outlets, however I saved money by being able to s...
Why do people like reel to reel players?
"I like reel to reel because of the expense and inconvenience of the format." Vinyl too ..
What to do with a large collection
I owned an estate sale company for 27 years and LP records where a hot item at our sales. There where a dozen or so regular buyers that would swoop in and buy most on the first day. I would price most of them at $2.00, up to $4.00 or $5.00, then w...
What to do with a large collection
dweller -- Don't worry about the jewel cases, toss them. Most of my cd collection are in Case Logic ProSleeves and they are selling, no problem on eBay. I just cut the paper front & back to fit in the sleeve along with any other inserts that a...
What to do with a large collection
"I really want to get rid of them in bulk, but maybe some are valuable enough to list." While not classical, here are some of my records that I sold, all used: Steely Dan, Self-Titled Japan pressing - $130.00 -- Beatles, White Album - $70.00 -- ...
