Dutch & Dutch 8c Loudspeakers
You should use an impedance transformer if using SPDIF changing it from 75 Ohm to 110 Ohm
PC/stereo setup and/or cable question
Would I run it like this: NAS>ehternet cable>PC>ethernet cable>USBridge>USB cable>DACIt should be NAS > router PC > router USBridge > router               USBridge >USB DAC
If a speaker stand is mass-loading, how much does it matter what they're made of?
VTI makes a couple of 19 inch steel stands you can use fill. Try standsandmounts.com
Replacing driver screws with brass screws
Wouldn't the elasticity of MDF or plywood make more difference than the material of the screw? Stainless Steel  screws would probably be the strongest.
A case for Hi Rez Digital
mahler said it better than I ever could. I quit vinyl and never looked back.
PC/stereo setup and/or cable question
If you don't need the PC in the chain you could use a raspberry pi4 running Volumio connected to your network and place it close to the DAC and use a short USB cable. You would need a tablet, phone or your PC to control Volumio through a browser.
USB sucks
If you're having problems try a Benchmark DAC3.Benchmark's USB system supports USB Audio 2.0, DSD, and USB Audio 1.1. It is frequency agile, and will follow sample rate changes initiated by the computer and/or the media playback software. In all m...
"Bridge Over Trouble Water" sounds artificial
I listened to this album a few weeks ago on Quboz. 96/24 mastering of the 1970 album by Vic Anesini, best version I remember ever hearing.
Why high-end cable manufacturers don't post measurements?
For the sake of this endless argument, what is your explanation to the difference in sound with different speaker cablesFor example Take a stranded copper cable of 0awg and one of 12awg running 10 feet connected to any amp with a DF >300 and a ...
USB sucks
I click on my roon app, find an album and hit play. Nothing to worry about. I will add if you're going to use the approach of streaming it's a good idea to understand some basic networking and how digital transport works. Most of the stuff I read ...
Replacing driver screws with brass screws
Wouldn’t brass screws look nicer? What’s the cost difference between what they buy in bulk compared to brass in bulk? I first saw this thread and thought it was a joke. I’ve read some strange stuff on this site but this takes the prize. I'm having...
Can Room Correction Be Added to an Existing DAC?
Thanks, most find me a pain I believe. I  could get into Dirac and do more adjustments than ARC but in the end I used the recommended file. I didn't find either one very hard and they both do a good job. I ended up with ARC mainly because I liked ...
Can Room Correction Be Added to an Existing DAC?
If you don’t need a streamer the Minidsp DDRC-22D would work. I’ve used ARC and Dirac they are comparable. You can use Dirac the same as ARC by accepting the correction it recommends or tweak it.
USB sucks
There are 2 reliable interfaces capable of transmitting DSD , ethernet and USB. If you're not interested then use optical, coax, or AES3. I2S was never intended for transfer between devices but on chip no more than an inch or two. There are a few ...
