Does Time alignment and Phase coherency make for a better loudspeaker?
Using DSP  a linear phase perfect impulse response can be done and is in certain active speakers.
Different R2R DACs
The best way would be with different speakers or EQ. Switching around DACS  isn't going to do it unless you buy one purposely designed to have a sound.  IMO DACs should be transparent to the system.
Advice on DSP streamer
If you replace the Node2i with Minidsp you should use the SHD Studio or you could use a Minidsp DDRC-22D between the Node2i and Cambridge.
Speaker Cable Management
Use PVC conduit.
Describe the sound of point source loudspeakers?
Point source speakers have multiple drivers the closest I know of is the Kef UniQ driver but it only covers the mid and high frequencies with 2 drivers. I've never heard a FULL range single driver.
Science that explains why we hear differences in cables?
It isn't news that resistance affects frequency response of the speaker which might be audible. These claims of waveguide and quantum whatever and an esoteric dielectric can make huge differences in cables with the same basic LCR is where I begin ...
Science that explains why we hear differences in cables?
The AES paper doesn't tell you anything other than RCA and XLR, unbalanced and balanced can sound different. It didn't compare apples to apples. The square wave and sine wave are not the same thing the square wave simulates all audio frequencies a...
U1 or U1 mini best for my setup
My mistake neither have a DAC. Looks like the U1 can upsample to higher rates than the Mini which your DAC would need to support.
Streamer reccomendation with RJ45 I2S and Dirac
It's already too complicated get a Minidsp SHD and go straight to the Adam speakers.
U1 or U1 mini best for my setup
I believe the main difference is the Mini doesn't have a DAC so if you use your own DAC I would get the Mini if those are the only two you're considering.
Science that explains why we hear differences in cables?
Only 2 ways I can think of where cable reflection would be of any concern in home audio, 1 your cables are miles long , 2 you're trying to drive some crazy speakers with a cheap class D amp and a resonant frequency causes interference with the swi...
Have you moved away from full range to standmount speakers + subs?
Yes, but I don't use a subwoofer as my stand mount goes below 30hz which is more than enough for the music I listen to.
What Monitors would you pick for my new office (bookshelf) >>
Kef R3 or Elac DBR 62
Aren’t the two main transducers, speakers and cartridge, the most important?
Yes speakers and room interaction are 90% of what you hear.  They distort more than any other link in the chain by far.
Need Help On Amp Selection
It says 100 watt on their website if you could get them to show you an impedance and phase graph it would help see how hard they are to drive just saying 8 Ohm nominal isn't really much help.
