Don't try to fix these electrical prolbems with a conditioner!
@wsrrsw  - Excellent numbers.  Now just watch it during the day. :)
How competitive are you with your system?
I'm kind of anti-competitive.  I see speakers or gear on Stereophile and think "Wow, I've got a better sounding system than that and I only paid 10% of the cost!"
Tripp Lite?
OP:   Let me geek a little more on Tripp Lite.  I have 3-4 of the Isobar surge protectors.  The big plus is the metal housing should be more or less immune to fires started by exploding MOV's, unlike a lot of plastic housed surge strips.   The b...
When using a power conditioner, why is it advised to run amps directly to the wall?
PS - Worth checking your conditioner's voltage display with a reliable meter.  While I trust them to be relatively accurate, in absolute terms I've seen them be 2-3V off.   This is not usually a problem unless you are seeing values at the edges of...

@goodlistening64  I am one who is stymied by PS Audio using the word "regenerator" to describe that product. I would think most would actually believe it is recreating electricity Well, that IS what they do.  They are essentially Class D ampl...
Your advice appreciated: Bookshelf Speakers for my Conrad Johnson CAV45-S2
Used monitor audio or Fritz.  In a room that small having at least 4 to 6 panels can really help your bass with bookshelves
Brain Farts w/ Roon Nucleus
OP:  Yes indeed, micro PC's are cheap, some built on mobile CPUs offering exceptionally low power consumption.   Personally I'd do the same.  Get a sub $300 micro PC, install Ubuntu and Roon on it and I'd be set for life.

I have a 35 years old trac house that is fairly nice build , but I did find exceptions. Decent Supply panel and appropriate gauge copper wire and decent grounding  including multiple earth ground rods. However  the inside was finished with subpar...
Battery-Powered Audio System Buzzing?
Glad I could help.  :)  As far as I remember these issues arise due to the generator neutral and the house neutral not being bonded to the same reference point setting up a neutral/ground differential which causes current flow through the ground....
When using a power conditioner, why is it advised to run amps directly to the wall?
It may help audiophiles understand that while line level devices (DAC, preamps, etc.) are usually fully regulated, linear amplifiers almost never are.  That is, your preamp has little regulators which, combined with the power supply keep the work...
Tripp Lite?
Hey.   Wirecutter rates some Tripp Lite surge protectors extremely highly.  They are the only source of 3rd party testing for surge protectors I know of.  They rate Furman's higher though.  :) Take a close look at the specific models they mention...
Don't try to fix these electrical prolbems with a conditioner!
Hey @mikenike80s  See this is exactly the problem we all have.  Audiophiles think they get a dedicated line from the power company to their panel and they don’t.  Lots of external factors come into play.  While I absolutely don’t recommend fixin...
When using a power conditioner, why is it advised to run amps directly to the wall?
I wanted to add more to this discussion, if I may.  If current is restricted voltage will drop.  That’s it.  If the voltage remains stable then the amp is drawing as much current as it can.  After YEARS of watching AC  power fluctuate in apartmen...

@goodlistgening64 Consider the case of a missing ground wire.  This is not an audiophile issue.  This is a life safety issue.  If your outlet is 3 prong, and the ground is open or missing, or swapped with the neutral a basic safety feature of you...

What you suggest is a way to determine (sort of) if your lines are causing your rig to sound less than optimal. @goodlistening64    That’s not how I would phrase it.  I’d say this is what you should do to make sure your wiring is performing a...
