Stillpoints - snake oil?
I am a Stillpoints user. I tried about a dozen other similar vibration devices under the same components to arrive at the ones that I use. Under my VPI TNT VI, I use a Townsend sink (solves VPI’s poor isolation problem).  I had major vibration pro...

I have a problem shelving my CD box sets such as Mercury, RCA Living Stereo and Deccas with 60 CDs per box.  Also, I have many Warner and other 15 to 40 CD box sets.  The latter box sets generally fit better in my CD rack/Can-Am metal cases as the...
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
I thought I would stop at 6, then 9, 10, 11, 12. I’ve stopped at 12 because I found that my new cabling seems to accomplish much of the same thing times 2 or 3 (but included speaker, pre-amp/amp IC, CD player IC and phono IC cabling) about as cost...

So are you disputing Mrs. Mrock's assertion that the E-Mat has a very wide range (a giant field) of horizontal effect?
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
A field of electromagnetic effect.  Obviously.
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
That means the 12 mats I have are interacting with each other and multiplying their effect on equipment both horizontally and vertically.  I guess the mats are benefiting equipment on the adjacent rack (equipment 1' to 3' away from mats including ...

mrs_ppt  Why did you put the E-Mats under your cars floormats?  No one has answered my question as to how far the mat effect is horizontally.  Does it spread significantly wider than the dimensions or just remain within the dimensions?

I am not looking to upgrade my Legacy Focus speakers although I had been contemplating $50-$60K speakers to replace them.  This is due to a combination of the recent upgrades to my system.  The first was the installation of a dozen Omega E-Mats.  ...
How do you store and catalog your vinyl?
I figured my collection would take about 4 months, non-stop, end to end.  Probably 10 years at 1.5 to 2 hours a day leisurely which is what I am doing.  I just have to get rid of 4,000 LPs and 2,000 78s in my storage shed and stop buying more.
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre?
I guess all the posters think that my Kevlar 7" pair of mid-range drivers produce poor mid-range sound and don't integrate with my dome tweeter and ribbon super-tweeter.  However, somehow Legacy has managed to make a superlative sounding speaker, ...
How do you store and catalog your vinyl?
My acquaintances who have/had 1 million or more LPs do/did not have not categorized at all or very well.  What a mish mosh as they generally didn't listen but only collect records.  My friend with 250,000 78s used index cards and had easy shelving...

uberwaltz - That's me. I have 7,000 CDs (5,500) stored in metal cabinets with custom drawers http://www.can-am.ca/  and 1,000 on shallow bookcase shelving.  The box sets are separated on top of the shelving.  These are cataloged. The 7,000 78s and ...
Looking for ideas - new mono blocks for stereo music
I heard the Bryston 7BSST3s with an EAR 912 tube preamp and it sounded excellent on Carver Amazing speakers.  Actually, more like superb in the mids and highs.  Upgrading the fuses and duplex are low cost upgrades.  Do not use Bryston A/C cables. ...
Best Loudspeakers for Rich Timbre?
I was so lucky to have heard Ashkenasy, Arrau,  Bachauer,    Ciccolini, Kubelik/Bavarian Orch and so many other great classical musicians in ideal conditions from where I sat.  Royce Hall was renovated maybe 15 or 20 years ago and the balcony ha...

Since I’ve installed 32 Synergistic Research HFTs, my slap echo and other room acoustic anomalies have abated. Each HFT appears to broaden the reflection soundwaves, probably increasing the reflection times. They certainly don’t shorten the soundw...
