Monitors for Fatman 13 w/ch Integrated look for some Triangle stella's
Triangle Heliade ES I had the Comete which is similar but the monitor version. Yes this is not a bass heavy speaker. But it should sing with tubes. I used a Primaluna and EL34 and enjoyed it with a wide range of music. Maybe you should pair this with a sub? I'm not a...
Reference 3A choices? I can only speak to the De Capos. They sound great at low levels, wonderful sound stage and imaging the music floats away from the speakers doesnt sound like its coming from them.i have a 35wt Primaluna and no trouble getting loud when i need it.
do monitors require a subwoofer? I am not a big fan of "thump, Thump" noise. I do think a subtle sub :) can make a difference. I'm using 3A De Capo's and don't really feel the need for a sub. With my Triangle Cometes there were times when it might have made a difference.
Small-ish Speakers That Come Alive At Low Volume I had the Cometes and got some 3A De Capos and found they do even better at low volumes than the Cometes especially with dynamics.
Phono Pre? I use my Seduction with the Shure V15-V-MR on a jelco 250st and HW-19 mkiv.It is a great combo, warm but not too tubey, a sweet sound i listen mostly to classical and blues with rock and jazz. Great all around performer

Recommendation for Music/Movies - B&W, Paradigm... I use a Cambridge 540R HT with BW 602's as my main speakers not high end but great sound. I like the B&W's and think they make a great economical choice or you could go with their 603 floorstanders and use the 602/1's for rear speakers
Phono Pre? Seduction, it has a sweet sound. I have a Wright WPP200c and it has a very tube sound so if your amp is SS it may be an option. Its a bit too tubey for me except for classical where it rocks. The Pro-Ject Tube Box/se/II may be an option but not wit...
Can a broken leg from a tube be soldered and used? What if it causes a short?

tube amp or int for digital audio? When we use my wife Ipod through my tube Primaluna Int Amp it sounds great. When we hook it up to a friend SS receiver not so good.
