Concerned about my cart/pre pairing
Low output mc cartridges sound best with a good SUT. High gain phono stages suffer from too much noise when used with a cartridge putting out 1 millivolt or less! Since a SUT is a passive device it adds NO noise - unlike any active gain stage.
Concerned about my cart/pre pairing
+1 for a SUT! I have several, including. a Bellari. This is an excellent USA-made SUT at a reasonable price!
Will line conditioner do anything for the other receptacle in a duplex?
No it will not have any effect - just the outlet it is plugged into!

+1 mijostyn - Thank you for speaking out against all the mumbo-jumbo spouted by the "golden ears" crowd! "Pacing" and "timing" indeed!

Simaudio, MOON, Neo MiND
Just get a 230/110 step down transformer - no effect upon sound quality! I'd be leery of any so-called "improvements" being touted by Bernard!
speakers for classic receiver
Regarding Sansui receivers, I have three in my collection. Your's will be good for several more decades use!
speakers for classic receiver
Thumbs down to the JBL's and Klipsch Heresy! The Focal's are far more accurate top to bottom! Plus being floor-standers they don't need stands! Your Sansui receivers will work well with the Focal's!
Best vintage DD turntables from the 70's and 80's?
Kenwood KD650 with the resin stone base! I have one!
