@steviet,  Thank you for this post.  The subject matter interests me as I am a bit of a tube head, but I bought the Ruby (both integrated and DAC/SACD) on sale from Music Direct--just had to try Ken Ishiwat's final piece, which he said was his gre...

@reubent , Good question.  I use Roon.  I built, per Roon's own directions (to the letter) a Roon Rock out of an Intel NUC CPU.  The total cost with RAM is about $300--wait, we are in an inflationary market!--I think I paid about $300 or so.   Th...

I'm guilty of giving her not enough attention before.  That is my mistake and my loss.  Wow. She was a natural talent.   I play music but am only average.  I can learn a lot of stuff with hard and focused practicing.  I've learned to sing way bet...

@wolverine1 , Thank you for veering a bit off topic! You are correct. I have skipped a few years and need to go in with my Irish-English pale skin.

I love the product. I wish it was built with a better grounding scheme though. It’s 2022. It’s not 1955.

What Would Be the Reasoning Behind Leaving Class D Amps On?
Next time I'm 6 drinks in and talking hifi with someone who cares or is not bored of me, I'm going to say this plebeian thing.... When Class A/B idles, it's only running at say 1000 rpm--to use a motor analogy.  When Class D idles, it's only run...
What Would Be the Reasoning Behind Leaving Class D Amps On?
Thank you @oldhvymec .  I have a nice tube preamp here that I may drive the Marantz ruby with just to see how valves fronting Class D sounds.  I did that once before with an NAD M22--I put a Schitt Freya in front of it and it sounded great that wa...
What Would Be the Reasoning Behind Leaving Class D Amps On?
it’s been said multiple times on the forums that it’s best to leave solid state / class d amps on all the time as it sounds better. turn off / unplug solid state equipment if going out of town or bad weather is coming. tube equipment gets tur...

@erik_squires ,  THANK YOU! E.   I know you have some technical knowledge and background.  How wonderful it is to hear someone like you say, Yep, this is my experience and I'm not sure exactly why.   Certainly the notion of caps being charged up ...

Wait, didn't Keith Relf die from an improperly grounded amp?   At any rate, science tells me it is absolutely possible.  Probable? Maybe not, but....I'll take my amps grounded to chassis and to earth.

I'm sure there are more people who have been hurt by poorly designed grounding schemes and we don't hear about them in the news.

Can someone show me documented case where injurie resulted from an ungrounded piece of equipment? I know Keith Richards was shocked on stage and same with the guitarist from Kiss when their guitars created a circuit due to lack of proper ground...
