Stuff You Tried To Love
Neil Young.  No matter how many times I've tried, I just can't stand his voice and can't get past it.
Dog pissed on speaker
You could order a new cone for your speaker directly from Klipsch. They’re not that expensive - maybe $150 max if I had to guess. If it got on the grille, just spray some Pooph on that and the smell will be gone. Just be glad it wasn’t cat piss. ...
Roon is snappy responsive now
Agreed, something has changed for the better.  Previously, I'd be browsing an album and when I returned to my Artists list the top row of Artist icons were blank causing me to restart my Roon Remote every single time.  That's now stopped happening...
Cary vs Raven
The “HS” in the SLI-80HS stands for “Heritage Series,” so one might deduce that the Cary pairs quite well with the Klipsches you’re considering.  That said, my PrimaLuna EVO 400 integrated absolutely sings with my Cornwall IVs - I’m just blown awa...
A Few Nice Words For Upscale Audio
Upscale is awesome. I bought my TT, first cartridge (Hana ML), phono stage, SACD player, integrated amp, and speakers all from them. Only if I’m in a real hurry will I go somewhere else, and that’s usually Music Direct since I can get stuff from t...
Your greatest high end audio purchase!!!
Dunno how high end these purchases are, but they're definitely the most significant as far as my two-channel system goes: Klipsch Cornwall IVs Hana Umami Blue
DAC upgrade
I’d think you could find a lightly-used Matrix Audio X-Sabre 3 for less than $2500.  I’ve been using a Matrix Element X for several years and it’s superb.
Help needed to eliminate unwanted noise from tweeter
I’d take a look at this and then decide whether you really have a noise problem.  I have very efficient speakers (Klipsch Cornwalls) so any time I’m put my ear remotely close to the tweeter I hear hiss.  But at a normal listening position, it’s ju...
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers
@badgerdms I hear ya.  I never mess with VTA-on-the-fly either, primarily because it's a PITA but also because changing VTA also changes VTF.  I used a generic 180g record to set up my turntable and those are the settings I use with all my records...
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers
I use VPI's screw-down stainless/Delrin reflex clamp and periphery ring.  They work great IMO - there's no better way to flatten out your records short of a vacuum platter. All the tedious set-up steps we go through with our cartridges (VTA, VTF,...
Cost Incurred to Achieve a Vinyl LP Replay
Whew.  I think that’s called verbose.
SACD is VERY confusing
There are several older SACD players (Oppo, Marantz, Denon, among others) that, when used with third-party Sonore freeware, can easily rip the SACD layer from the player to your computer over a network connection.  Once the SACD layer is ripped, y...
New Cartridge Causing Intermittent Popping
I sent an AT-ART9XI to VAS to have its cantilever aligned.  When I got the cart back the cantilever was straight but the cart would pop - LOUDLY - about once per side.  It was startlingly loud.  I initially thought the pops were caused by static b...
Klipsch Jubilee amplifiers
I wish I had the room for a pair of Jubes because I'd own them.  I LOVE my CWIVs...enjoy your new speakers!
New Project RS2T transport
Pro-Ject gear has always struck me as vastly overpriced given its sub-par build quality and reliability that seem to be the stereotype of products manufactured in former Eastern Bloc countries. I’m sure they’ll get there, but they don’t seem to be...
