Chair @skywachr - I've had a real Herman Miller Eames chair and ottoman for 3 years, and my opinion is that it is extremely comfortable and a purchase I'm very glad I made.
Chair Another intriguing swivel chair I've seen at high-end furniture stores and high-end hi-fi shops is called the Lobster chair; very comfortable and seat and back just the right height. Pretty pricey, though.
Chair @rick_n - having your head above the back of the headrest makes a big difference. While listening to something with nothing behind your head, cup your hands behind your ears and hear the difference. That's essentially what's happening when the bac...
What is your audio axiom? @mylogic + 1 - Indeed, I enjoyed music no less when I was a teenager listening to it on a transistor radio. A new Beatles song was every bit as thrilling on that. It's a different experience today, but enjoyment of songs is the same.
Best way to spend my money I recently upgraded to a high output Hana MC cart, and that made the biggest difference in my sound next to the speakers themselves - everything improved and the change was not subtle. The one I got was a lot more than a grand, though...
Does Chat GPT just give you the answer you are hoping for? ChatGPT is SOOOOOOO much more than some 'feel-good app'.....
What decibel level do you listen at? What is ideal? Thank you again, @jrareform - yes, I see they are about $17; I'll order one - I've got loads of Amazon points!
Have some fun with bookshelf monitors!! Besides the sound of the speakers, another good thing about Fritz speakers is that you can have a nice, long conversation with Fritz, the guy who makes the speakers... He can answer any of yer questions and has lots of good stories to tell.
What decibel level do you listen at? What is ideal? Thank you, @jrareform - I was wondering about that, too. Somebody else on the thread mentioned a good sound level meter app; I might try that one and/or some others.
Yes, I ordered a pair..... Indeed, I've had several headphones that I was ready to return based on how they sounded out of the box, but ended up enjoying after break-in. Like speakers, they're mechanical and need break-in time - some need just a little, some need hundreds o...
New vs uses in your current setup 60/40 new/used.
What decibel level do you listen at? What is ideal? Just recently got a DB meter app; I live in an apartment and I sit about 8 feet from my speakers which are about 8 feet apart. What I considered 'loud' turned out to be between 40 and 55 db! And I play rock music, not ambient!
Mick Ralphs has passed away Mick was responsible for some awesome music over the decades, going back to that first Mott the Hoople with the MC Escher cover; RIP Mick....
What is your audio axiom? @ozzy62 - it would seem that way, yeah? But in my apartment I've got a long livingroom and I have my gear set up width-wise, not length-wise, so on one side I've got about 15 feet until the window wall, and on the other side about 10 feet from the...
