? on Pioneer CD players from the past, anyone still using one of these @jafant, the bdp09 uses a standard type a two prong us power cable, which you can find for a few bucks anywhere--i see ’em at goodwill all the time. pm me if you can’t find it.
Whats on your turntable tonight? @spiritofradio, we were talking fleetwood mac's "future games," which i'd rate as my second favorite behind "kiln house" and just ahead of "bare trees", though i'm occasionally persuaded that "then play on" is their pinnacle. @mammothguy54, i'm w...
Whats on your turntable tonight? @bslon, agree with you wholeheartedly on both "future games" and "catholic boy". i wasn't the biggest bob welch fan, but the title track is a classic + danny kirwan was a genius. as for "catholic boy," it's a lot more musical than you'd expect fro...
How to connect my Cell Phone to my DAC?!?! try playing youtube or pandora on your phone thru the smsl and see if it works. if so, try uninstalling and reinstalling spotify.
What speakers have you mistakenly let go and then later repurchased? Rega RS6 Von Schweikert VR1
Ali Baba i'd surmise that almost all of the deeply-discounted western-branded gear on ali is counterfeit, in the sense of not being authorized by or sold for the account of the brand. however, broadly speaking you find three types of counterfeit products-...
Midfi Integrated amp w/ phone stage recommendation of all the ones mentioned, for a vinyl-oriented system i would second the buy-british recs--rega brio, music hall, creek--they're optimized for small apartment systems. lotsa deals on used.
Recommendation for Headphones under $250 the Philips SHP9500 cost around $75, sound very true-to-source and are very comfortable--highly rated by the headfi community
Whats on your turntable tonight? keith richard, "crosseyed heart"--he doesn’t overexert himself on the songwriting (the album sounds like it took him about an hour to write and record), but he’s become one of the great non-singers, with a real patina to his voice the feelies, "t...
Need suggestions on efficient book shelf speakers for a Pass Labs XA3.5 i've head the pass with dynaudio and it was an excellent match
Washington Post article on MoFi vs. Fremer vs. Esposito i don't doubt that the digitally-tweaked vinyl sounds better, and i would argue that mofi doesn't deserve the death penalty. bottom line, though, is that if, as alleged, mofi intentionally misled those analog purists who paid a superpremium for th...
Has anyone had on of these CD players? How good are they? i've also had good experience with 90's era sony es cdps (i still use a 79es and used to have the 777es, which i never should have sold); even if the lasers (or more typically the belts) go bad, you can find replacements on ebay and the repairs ar...
Current Universal Players cambridge audio makes a well-regarded oppo-based bdp which does dvda and sacd (not sure about hdcd). personally, i'd cheap out and go used--a lot of these overbuilt older lexicon/meridian/denon players can be had for pennies on the dollar.
Bob Seger live albums +10 live bullet, which flat out rawks. nine tonight isn't bad but gets dragged down by all the aor ballads.
Connect speakers to my new Denon AVR-x4700H Receiver or to my Outlaw 7125 7-Channel Amp my experience is that most mass market avrs benefit from an external amp, which generally has more oomph than the internal amps in the avr. per russ69 i would compare both ways, but i'd be surprised if you didn't like the outlaw better. |
