emotiva mono block amps any good? thanks Tony for ur insight. As far as doubling power from 8/4 ohms, there are other high power amps that come close to that spec and provide high current, so I agree with you. Yeah, not much info on these amps, but what I find so funny about the E...
emotiva mono block amps any good? Tony"I have heard amps in the XPA line and based on the experience and for the same money, I'd take the Belles all day long."Totally; XPA is not in the same league as amps mentioned above. But any info on the XPR Reference line? Is it a redesigned...
progress? I think Al's photo tells us all we need to know. Nice find, Al.
5751 Triple Mica - really that good? No experience with 5751s, but Amperex Bugle Boys 1959-1962 LARGE ROUND HALO GETTER presented a huge 3D soundstage, nice clear top end and good detail. Very musical, which I'm not sure the 5751s are.Check archives for 5751.

suggest an under $2000 amp to match 4ohm speakers My recommendation is to forget tone controls as a requirement, not because I'm an audio snob, but the output of treble/bass controls have overlaping frequencies. It's more effective to acoustically treat the room. Since it's a man-cave, use sound ...
Best Budget Turntable & Best Overall Sound System 20-something years ago when Linn was committed to the great house sound they were known for, their budget models Axis and Basic rivaled their LP-12.I recently auditioned new $1500 TTs and decided to have my Axis refurbished instead. Cost was $300.
sound at the record store Goofyfoot, that sounds very cool. But what else is there to do in Iceland but hang out in a record store?
sound at the record store The stores that will play a record for you are providing a service so that you can check out the tracks on the album and get an overall sense of its condition. Not for you to sit back and enjoy audiophile sound. And yes I would be afraid to play a...
Bass leaves after amp warms up? It's too bad this thread ended on a sour note. These 10 pages are full of well intentioned good advice. So many concerned Agoners willing to do research such as checking specs, reading white papers and the like. With such a perplexing problem the ...
References available on real life room "tuning"? Since it's a living room and you wouldn't want acoustic panels on the walls, hang a tapestry on the rear wall behind the listening position. Worked great for me.Plus, definitely drapes and rugs.
Need advice: Turntable Output Voltage Have u looked to see if there is a MM/MC switch on the phono section of the Yamaha? It might be on the back panel. You are using a Moving Magnet cart. The switch should be set to MM. MC is for moving coil.Hope the problem is this simple.
