5 tables one choice, opinions please
For classical my choice would be the VPI or Nottingham. Nottingham will give you darker backgrounds but also a warmer sound overall, while still keeping the detail being quick. The Scout is more forward sounding, more emphasis on the highs, about ...
80's System Needs Upgrade
This thread on audio asylum might help. You might want to try to post over there in the heritage, speaker, and amp asylum (all three)!Maybe a good, older McIntosh amp might be the way to go. Also, another thought might be to check out tube amplifi...
Questions for specialists on “warmth”
I have never understood the tight association many see between tubes and warm sound.I completely agree: In my experience there has been no correlation whatsoever with warm and the destinction between SS and tube equipment, at least not with respec...
Tube DAC to take edge off Rega Planet 2000
My experience with Rega reflect the above - Rega is one of the smoothest and warm sounding CDP. Most tube units are not as warm sounding.I would look elsewhere in you system for the harshness.Rene

Denon DL 160
What arm are you using with the Denon DL103. If it is on the light side like the VPI JMW9, the plate will be helpful, for heavier arms it is not necessary. I have a Denon DL160 as well - incredible cartridge. I was amazed at its different but stil...

Tuntable not working with wood floors..Help
Hanging from the ceiling is not only a cost effective solution to your problem, but also a superb isolating technique. The only vibrations that get feed back into the turntable are airborne, but they do not couple very well with self/turntable uni...
