squeezebox vs sonos The sonos does not have a storage device and requires use of a computer to store your music. I really enjoy the ease of use of the sonos and the sound is above average. I have not heard the squeezebox devices.Good luck,Reg
Thoughts on Audio Note, Totem, B&W, Lipinski... Hello,Of the contenders you have listed, I have had extensive experience at home and local dealers with Audio Note and B&Ws (I own both). Between the two, it is also a match with whatever amplifier you have. The ANs are a bit more sensitive an...
XM or Sirius In two of my cars, one has XM and the other Sirius integrated into the sound systems. To me the audio quality seem the same. I much prefer the Sirius programming (jazz, sport, rock) although the XM programming also pretty good. My son put an after...
Can I go wrong with Stealth Indra ? Mike,I no longer use NBS Black Label in my 2 channel system (they are in my HT system.) My speaker cables are Pranawire Cosmos. I use a one meter Indra pair from my DAC to preamp, a one meter pair from preamp to active crossover, and a 4 meter pai...
Can I go wrong with Stealth Indra ? The Indra is a great interconnect. I had the NBS Omega 1, then upgraded to the NBS Black Label (which I still have.) I was able to audition/compare and ultimately purchase a production Indra. It was much quieter, dynamic and truthful in my system....
When will a 60"+ true 1080P plasma be available? The dealers I deal with in the DC area say that the Pioneer Elite 1080P 50" plasma will be released this May. In fact the specs and preliminary price are shown on the Pioneer web page.
Sonos music system installation My wife and I also love the the Sonos system. We have one for the bedroom, and when we finish building our house will use this instead of a wired system. The remote is remarkable.
Electraglide Epiphany , Upgrade or Downgrade? I own Epiphany X, Elrod statement, Kubala-Sosna Emotion, Jena Model One, and Pranawire Maha-Samadhi power cords and have had time to closely evaluate them all. I find the Epiphany X cord fine for my solid state amps in my HT system, but too unrefi...
Bi amping and cabling I actively biamp. In my system, the crossover has a pair of interconnects from the preamp to the crossover. From the crossover, there are two pairs on interconnects to the amps. You can get active crossovers from Marchand, Bryston among others (do...
Dedicated power, long power cords - waste of time? I agree with Warrenh. I have dedicated lines that come into my room from the outside, then are run along the baseboard of the room for an additonal 15' to where my rig is located. 20' power are expensive and severely limit your choices of cords.Go...
Ripping Music and Other Videos for new iPod there is a free software put out by Handbrake which allows you to rip any DVD to your video ipod. I have used it to rip thirty plus of my dvds an it works flawlessly.
indra users/fans--- I am sorry I was not clear. I use the cyberlight between the DCC2 and my preamp. I use the optical cabling between the CDSD and the DCC2.
indra users/fans--- I own the Indra, NBS black label (expensive, top of the line), and recently tried the Harmonic technology cyberlights. IMS, the NBS was not even close to the other two. I prefer the Indras over the cyberlights from preamp to amp, the other way aro...
Listening Nirvana in Tiny Hideaway Room I have been using a 10' by 12' wood-panelled library for the past 6 years. My wife lets me use this room only for my system with all the equipment. There is room only for a three person sofa 6' away from the speakers. Over the years I puttered in ...
EMM DCC2 vs Hi End Preamps In my system, I have consistently preferred the sound of my Audionote tubed preamp to the preamp of the DCC2, although the DCC2 is excellent. The soundstage seems to flatten and seems very slightly brighter with the DCC2. Again as someone else has... |
