Klipsch Heresy Speakers Circa 1976 ...Type HDBR No! If they sound good to you leave them alone! I have a pair just like yours (raw birch) - and they sound just fine! I bought mine for use with my SET 45 and 2A3 amps. With 100db sensitivity the Heresy is a good match for low power amps.
Directional? "Directionality and Burn-in" Let me put on my Tin Foil hat and think about it!
most advanced speaker in a rectangular wooden box? Infinity 2000A's with RTR electrostatic tweeters! I have a pair bought from the original owner - a California college professor. Nice!
Your Side by Side Experience With Best Vintage vs Newer Expensive Hi Tech Speakers Quad 57's still beat most new stuff. I am glad I have two pairs (so I can experiment with stacking!).

AAA vs DDD... All music recording starts as an analog process - sound waves into a microphone. It is best captured on analog tape and then transferred to a laquer disk via a cutting lathe. The final product being the lp. Very little is lost in the process. This...

Phono stage Mark Levinson ML6 mono preamps! Can't afford those? Then the Robert Grodinsky RGR 4 is a good alternative. I am listening to one right now! Check out the review in The Audio Critic!
NAD 1600 Receiver I have the 1600 preamp/tuner. Sounds competitive with the expensive stuff!
A Millennial recounts their journey from low-end to high-end audio. I bought my first high-end system a year after getting my first corporate job at age 24 (1976). So hang in there!
Oppo to cease production -- Announced yesterday... As long as there are RICH people to buy those Soulution amps, Tech Das TT's and Wilson Chronosonic speakers - HIGH END will NEVER die!!!
Recommendation for a modern Duntech Sovereign 2001 replacement How about the latest Carver Ribbon Array with its own dedicated sub's? Looks impressive! That would be my choice!
Woofer-Assisted Wide Band My Ohm Sound Cylinders function well from 30 hz to 8k hz with a single 8 inch driver but need help in the last octave by using a pair of dome tweeters. They do sound stunningly coherent with this arrangement and come the closest to the "full range...

Klipsch Heresy Speakers circa 1976...Cabinet wood question. My vintage Heresy's are unfinished birch plywood. And I've had Altec Seville's that were also made of plywood. Same for my Rogers LS3/5A's. |
