The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
@tomic601 Honestly I'm embarrassed to say it but no, I don't have a dedicated line to the listening room. It's something I've thought about doing frequently but just haven't gotten around to it. Though....I'm skeptical about the potential benefits...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
@knittersspouse okay that’s very interesting information. I hadn’t thought about electricity coming from different sources and each source carrying with it a certain type of “distortion”. That right there could be the answer I’m looking for. Skept...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
@tomic601  You missed my comment about measuring you ambient noise floor at various times….. that’s ok….most audiophiles lack an SPL meter for level matching and other essential tasks….. I caught your comment. It’s a valid enough point but I don...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
@whart  PPS: I took a quick look at the PS Audio forum and there seems to be some suggestion that its regenerators are still susceptible to certain forms of noise. One user, John H, was a frequent contributor to those discussions.   I wasn’t awa...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
@bbarten  you asked: So, is this a consistent phenomenon?  Does it happen every time the circumstances are the same? That’s a great question. Obviously it needs to be measurable and repeatable for it to be “real”. On the measurable side, it come...
The Midnight Effect - Who-How?
Just a couple things based on some comments above… equipment warm up is not what I’m referring to when I talk about the midnight effect. That’s real, but it’s a different thing altogether. I might start a listening session in the early afternoon, ...

Help Connecting Computer To 2-Channel Rig For Video
It’s all 2-channel gear, no receiver or AV.  I just ordered an Apple TV box and a HDMI splitter with audio out. I’m not 100% sure it’s what I need but I will find out soon enough :)
ASR Emitter PS/ Battery - Can you plug any of these into a power regenerator/conditioner?
I run my battery powered Veloce pre/power into a regenerator. (PS Audio P10). If there’s a 110v input then I can’t think of a technical reason why it shouldn’t be connected to the output on a regenerator, assuming it’s stable and suitably rated, ...
Integrating video streaming into a dedicated audiophile system
@lectronjh50  Hi… I just came across this thread and I have a system configured similar to yours where I connect an oppo blueray player via HDMI to a overhead projector and the oppo to my preamp. It works great for spinning disc media in the oppo...
Excellent Solid State or Hybrid Monoblocks Recommendations
I ran Aerial 7b with a pair of Veloce Audio Saetta Hybrid monoblocks. The amps are battery units with a pair of 6H30 tubes on the input to a Hypex class D module. MSRP was $18K, used price is all over the map. I've owned the Veloce amps for a cou...

Stolen property
I don’t think you can, at least not easily. Here’s a few things to consider: The price is too good to be true. The seller is claiming to be ‘selling on behalf of a friend’. The seller’s description indicates a lack of knowledge about the prod...

SUT With a Manley Steelhead RC?
I’ve a Steelhead RC that has been the one constant in my system for several years. I ran it as a preamp for a little while but prefer it into an active preamp. I use the Veloce Litho battery pre that has been mentioned in this thread and also have...
