OCD mickey website and negativity.
Ironically, I have been pursuing hard a new DAC and was reading tons of reviews and watching a variety of videos.  It wasn’t until I viewed  a few that I put it together and realized that some were from that OCD guy mentioned in this Audiogon thre...
Quite a few Bricasti M21 DACs for sale cheap
The mothership just called me back to tell me that there is a new MDX board. $800. Unclear as to whether or not it's user installed.

Just spoke with the mothership. You are correct, the M21 display has been upgraded (for $400) but otherwise, no internal changes. A bargain bordering on a steal.

Thanks for the additional info. I didn't know there was an updated version of the M2 one. Food for thought. That's why I come to Audiogon.
Occam's Razor: The Signal to Noise Ratio
My apologies for how I ended the previous post and how it might appear.  I should have said "the signals in your head are your business and yours alone".
Occam's Razor: The Signal to Noise Ratio
The title of your link is “Perceptual attributes of acoustic waves – Timbre”. I believe you make my point right there but I will expand further.   You cite the following factors: signal time variance (envelope)  degree of attack and decay sy...
Occam's Razor: The Signal to Noise Ratio
All timbre information is contained within the original waveform. From Britannica.com: "timbre, quality of auditory sensations produced by the tone of a sound wave."   From DSP Guide.com: "The perception of a continuous sound, such as a note f...
Occam's Razor: The Signal to Noise Ratio
Signal to noise can apply to all waveforms, not just electrical. Perhaps emphasizing the term waveform rather than signal would be helpful.  I regard them as synonymous. In the analog audio world, the signal exists as a waveform. The original aco...
PSI Audio AVAA C20 Active Bass Trap Acoustic Absorber???
Thanks for the reply. I have moved my 4 subs throughout the room, or at least to the areas Todd Welti has demonstrated as most likely to work, and still have an audible boom. REW corroborates what I hear.  I may pull the trigger. Very nice system...
PSI Audio AVAA C20 Active Bass Trap Acoustic Absorber???
I have a 40 and an 80 Hz mode in my room that I also cannot cure. Did you buy the PSI device and if so, how is it working?
What affects front to back depth in room/ system?
I am fortunate to have a relatively large dedicated listening room which allows for proper distances from the walls, This, along with abundant acoustic treatment provides for an immersive experience. I also use a distributed bass array akin to the...
Go ahead, hang blankets on the side walls. You’ll be amazed.
I was happy with the speakers although I did upgrade the tonearm and the cartridge.  I spent as much on this as I did on the others so I guess I should be dividing this in quarters not thirds.
Distributed Bass Array Speaker Placement
Went to Harman.com and looked at Mr. Welti's work. I tried putting all four subwoofers in the corners and found that it had a nasty resonance. Went to another suggested layout with subwoofers on the front and rear walls and moved in a quarter of t...
Distributed Bass Array Speaker Placement
You are the man! This was exactly what I was hoping to get when I posted here. Thank you so much!
