NAD power amp ohm rating
It will be ok to use 16 ohm speakers on either switch position. Just don't use 2 pair of speakers or a single pair below 8 ohms on the hi position. And always change switch position with amp turned off.
Digital cable length- SPDIF vs AES/EBU- 1.5 meter for either?
So why do companies manufacturer very, very expensive 1.0 meter digital cables? Simple, people buy them. I totally agree they should be at least 1.5 meters as I have been involved in comparing different lengths of the same cable on a high resoluti...
Connections
Don't daisy chain anything. Output of preamp directly to input of amp. Connect the RG1 and SG-9500 to the 2 tape loops on the preamp, out(RG1 or 9500) to play(preamp) and in(RG1 or 9500) to rec(preamp). There are additional tape loops on the RG1 a...
Single vs Double Bi-wire....should I reconsider?
IMHO, I would definitely reconsider. Anything you read from Vandersteen is very direct about using a true bi-wire. FWIW, I have read threads in this forum from Vandersteen owners that said, a true bi-wire cable will sound better than a somewhat ...
Would like your tube amp recommendation
Have you seen this review of your speaker?http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/magnepan-mg-201-loudspeaker/ The reviewer thinks they need 300w into 4 ohms to "come to life", and with a sensitivity of 85db/2.83v, which is 82db/1w because of the...
Eico 666 - mutual conductance capable?
You are welcome and yes, it looks like the Eico is in that dynamic conductance category, and not an actual mutual conductance tester.

Center and Mains
You can change the speakers to match. Here is the matching center for your L&R that is recommended by Def-Tech,http://www.definitivetech.com/products/cs-8080hd An amplifier will do nothing to overcome the timbre mismatch. In a 2 channel system,...
Center and Mains
IMHO, the biggest problem is the extremely bad match between the center and main speakers. Having different brands absolutely ruins any chance of timbre match and then there is a 6db sensitivity difference between the Def-Techs and the McIntosh.So...
Dedicated Line Advise
It's always been my understanding that multiple dedicated lines need to be on the same side of the circuit box. Any reason why he wouldn't be able to just move the existing one?
Is the word 'Integrated' that hard to spell?

"My question is, will 36 watts be enough power for my Martin Logan Vantage speakers."IMHO, I seriously doubt it. Read this,http://www.martinlogan.com/learn/faq-electrostatic.php#8
