H.H.Scott Amp/preamp from 1960s
Since you say "amp/preamp", is this an integrated amp? If so, try looking here,http://www.hhscott.com/integrated_amps_stereo.htmAlso, there was some variation within the same model. Can you post some pictures? If I could see it, I should be able to...
How to meaningfully audition speakers??
You missed the point Bo, re-read.Tubegroover, shouldn't you expect this from someone sitting in one of those Dutch coffee shops with his iPad or laptop. I'm sure the iPad or laptop has 3D sound.
B&W design quality observation. Any downside
Today's infomercial from Bo is even more irrelevant to the OP's question than usual...So true, however, I'm sure he just couldn't hold back. If you only read the title of this post, "B&W design quality observation. Any downside", that's like t...
is hard drive dead
Have you tried making a disc copy of a CD? When this is done, it burns to the HDD first, prompts you to change discs, and burns blank disc from HDD. Also, it can only use blank discs labeled "Audio CD-R" or "Music CD-R". CD-R's for computer will n...
32" television
Bo1972,The OP, Guppy, initially stated he could use NO TV larger than 32", and then stated the fact that plasmas are not available in 32". What are you suggesting that he should do, or is the purpose of your 3 comments to address your own agenda?G...
Maxell or TDK?
But my 3 head Nak? TDK was the way to go.Makes perfect sense, since TDK manufactured the tape that Nakamichi sold under their name.
Tube in Preamp or Power amp?
They do have a highish output impedance so make sure your amp's input impedance is a higher value than the pre's output.Just being higher is too vague, as it should be at least 10 times higher at all frequencies.
Tube in Preamp or Power amp?
I doubt you will get a definitive answer to your question, but you do need to maintain system synergy. For a tube amp, the speaker's impedance curve should not have substantial dips below the nominal impedance. For a tube preamp, proper impedance ma...
Cables more hype than value?
Judging by the number of posts on this thread - we all have answers :-)And wenn I read some of the answers, I think they are "more hype than value".
Need a Amp with Volume Control
Zd, sorry for being so blunt with my post, but when you keep providing the same incorrect information, it is definitely not helpful.
Need a Amp with Volume Control
Zd542 is wrong, even the picture he provided in a search shows only "fix". Also, the manual states fixed with no option to change.
How does one "Get lost in the music"?
Maybe you should take a look at this thread,Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Need a Amp with Volume Control
As I said "most Sony TV's", however the KDL-S4100 has only fixed analog audio out and digital audio out. Therefore, you are correct with your original question. If you use the analog audio out, a NAD C 316BEE should work well unless you have very ...
Need a Amp with Volume Control
Obviously I can't control the audio out volume on the Sony TVMost Sony TV's have a selectable fixed/variable analog audio out. What is the model number of the TV?
Sad but true – budget HT 10 years in making
Sam, I think the VTF-2 MK4 would be better for your size room, and it does have much better low bass output. I'm sure either one can mate with your 601's.No, I have not heard the HB-1 MK2, but suggested them because of the excellent reviews. After ...
