Speakers for a Large Room (20’x37’)
@doni what did you end up getting?
Meitner MA3 DAC enhanced with fiber optic connection?
The EtherRegen and Optical Module are not my fav. I tried both. Get a Sonore OpticalRendu instead. I have 3 of these for each of my DACs. Last oR cost me $200 and a trade of an EtherRegen, which I was going to send to recycling.
Amp for Sopra No. 1
A CODA #16 is what I have and would bring to life that Focal. It is a bass monster, and the first 100 watts are Class A. Super quiet too. I also see my old KRELL 175XD listed for sale on TMR. That would also be great on the FOCAL. It is buttery s...
???What's The LEAST Expensive "End Game"Amplifier You've Ever Heard???
@samureyex If Benchmark ever upgraded the AHB2 I would think it would sound like the new SimAudio Moon 761 (have not heard the 861). I have owned the AHB2 many times and the 761 reminded me of a better AHB2. More power and a bit tinge of warmth an...
Open baffle speakers
Spoke with the wife about keeping 2 speakers in the Livingroom. She says she does not care and go ahead. Nice. It will be great to be able to do a head-to-head with the Open Baffle and the NS5000.
Open baffle speakers
I went to my friends Danny's place in Ventura, CA he is the owner of Requisite Audio. He is also a musician and has the best ears for audio of anyone that I know, genius level hearing and also commented as such by Stajan on an article on 6moons.co...
Kef Blade to Blade meta?
@steve59 A speedy recovery. The last bit of detail is what I also feel the KEF aluminum drivers lack with respect to something like a Paradigm Persona's Beryllium drivers. Definitely more detail but you need a warm amp. My Yamaha NS5000 with the...
Help Deciding On New Speakers For Small Room, $10k budget
I have a Yamaha NS5000 "bookshelf" in a decent sized room, but it is too big for a small room. To solve this for people Yamaha introduced the NS3000 which are true bookshelf speakers (use stands). The NS3000 is not sold in the USA but can be bough...
Kef Blade to Blade meta?
@steve59 He likely has not seen the new responses. Steve59 is usually posting interesting audio info. BTW - I find the Reference 5 sounds a lot different than the Blades. I was rather disappointed in the Reference 5 since it did not have the plac...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
One of my last streamers was created by the digital genius behind Playback Designs, Andreas Koch. It used a Plink interface for the best performance. It also had SPDIF which sounded great on that unit. The Plink was implemented using a fibre optic...
Quincy Jones has passed away
Jones called himself the Ghetto Gump. Read the GQ interview I linked above and see how he connects himself from Hitler to Michael Jackson. An incredible life story and more impressive than the fictional Forrest Gump. It seems to me he did not kno...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
People need to realize that the audio processing power needed to do streaming is not that high. When people moved away from cheap computers as the music servers and went with dedicated audio servers (also computers) they lost visibility to the CPU...

My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
Nothing wrong with USB if done right. Look at Schitt on their USB after many years of saying it was bad. They rolled their own so to speak. ARM processor or INTEL processors have 0 effect on the sonics of a streamer. Get a monkey to process the 1...
My Comments on the Infigo Audio IS-1 Signature Streamer
I have not heard the new Infigo amp but did hear the prototype about 8 years ago at a show and it sounded amazing. I asked them why they were not selling the amp at that time. I also heard the Resonessence Labs Mirrus DAC that day too and I loved...
