Auarender N10 On Sale

Many A'gon contributors use the Aurender N200 at >$6k. But as of this morning Upscale is selling the OCXO, four-output N10 at <$5000! No idea how many units they may have -- perhaps only a few. But shouldn't N200 people trade for this older yet better-featured model?

@hickamore

I am sure the N10 is older but I am not sure it is better. I never heard it.
So…prior to purchasing my N200 I’ve done some research and it indicated that the newer N200 is possibly a more resolving sounding streamer than the warmer/darker (as described by some) N10. The newer series Aurender features internal SSD for caching, updated galvanically isolated audio only USB out, better isolated network components and better processor, plus two slots for mounting SSDs of your choice with music library and is about to become Roon certified, which it did.
The older N10 wasn’t going to become Roon ready ever and it uses either 4tb or 8tb HDD for storage - no flexibility to add SSD.

I am sure the N10 is amazing but I won’t be trading my N200 in for the older unit.

Also, if it matters to you this unit is OPEN BOX, so not sure how much of a sale this really is. Also, very happy with my N200.

Thanks to those who replied. Based on your advice I will stick with the N200 which I have found excellent.

Yes @hickamore there are times we all try to solve problems that don’t exist. More often than not it ends up in a mistake. Enjoy the N200. All you need is a good DAC, good USB cable and a nice power cord.

@audphile1   I concur with your conclusion. A good USB, a good PC and good DAC. This brings a new level of enjoyment.  When I get back from FL in the spring I am experimenting with PC's on my DAC or Amp. I can afford one. Snake River Audio has my attention.
