That market is so competitive that I doubt there is a deal to be had at any reasonable price point. AudioQuest has built a reputation so I am sure they won't want to tarnish their name. I think you are pretty safe with that approach.
BTW, don't be afraid to get a device with "sacrificial surge protection". A number of companies are making big claims about non-sacrificial surge protection but the reality is a big enough hit will destroy anything in its path. The reasoning behind sacrificial surge protection is when it fails, it fails to a short across the lines. Thus, your equipment is protected since its power inputs are shorted while the short opens the fuses and circuit breaker on the line. It is equivalent to a bodyguard taking a bullet to protect the VIP. All the surge protection devices I designed are sacrificial - they can take repeated 20,000 amp surges and self destruct with one hit at 25,000 amps or more than one 20,000 amp hit within 10 minutes. When they go, the blow the circuit breaker on the main distribution panel and any fuse upstream from the circuit. We had them tested at an NRTL and the equipment was fine, only the sacrificial part died. That circuit breaker was a 50 amp, 240VAC circuit breaker, too.
