We built my son’s monitors for his studio using Mark Audio’s Alpair 11MS drivers in a solid cherrywood cabinet made by his grandad. Ported and they go pretty low, 50hz, so a sub in a corner helps at time. But they are shallow and fit on his work desk easily. They sound fantastic, and being (very nearly) full range with no crossover they are particularly good for monitoring the mid-range.
