Incredible Audioquest Firebird Source Power Cables & Thunderbird Interconnects!!!

I recently upgraded the power cable that I was using on my DAC from an Audioquest Hurricane High Current power cable to an Audioquest Firebird Source Power Cable.  I also upgraded my interconnects from Audioquest Pegasus XLR to Audioquest Thunderbird XLR.  Both the Thunderbird and the Firebird were purchased brand new and were installed in my system simultaneously.  Both cables are also still in the burn-in process.  At this point, all I can tell you is this.  As wonderful as my audio system sounded prior to the upgrades, practically right out of the box, the upgraded cables have elevated the sound quality of my audio system to a whole new level.  So far, I'm absolutely blown-away by both the world-class sounding Firebird and Thunderbird cables!!!  If the new cables sound this amazing with less than 50 hours on them, I can only imagine how much more magnificent they will sound once fully broken-in.  I think I'm finally done with my cable upgrades.  Happy listening.

@audphile1 Yes!!! The upgrade from AQ Hurricane HC to AQ Firebird Source, on my DAC, was quite a revelation. I still have one AQ Hurricane HC cable in my system, which is plugged in from the wall outlet to my AQ Niagara 3000 power conditioner, and that seems to be the perfect PC for that application in my audio system. Happy listening.

Now that the Firebird outperforms the Hurricanes, prices for the latter should come down.

Why?  When a manufacturer has model A higher up in the product line that outperforms model B, does model B go down in price?   Never, except on the used market.

The upgrade from AQ Hurricane HC to AQ Firebird Source, on my DAC, was quite a revelation.

What exactly were the sonic gains with the Firebird?  A "revelation" does not tell us much.

And look at all the models in the AQ product line.  Wouldn't you think AQ and so many other cable manufacturers could get it right with 3 or so models at any one time?  It becomes a never-ending addiction to get the next model in the line which all too often is a subtle improvement at best, and not at a trivial price increase.

@jafox  As you well know, high end audio isn't a necessity, it's a fun hobby, which is all  based upon pure passion and pleasure.  This is why I never concern myself with how other audiophiles spend their money.  I could care less how anyone else spends their hard earned money on high end audio.  That's their business.  It's all the neighborhood.  Happy listening

dunno, that curiosity bug can be annoying

No idea how this response has anything to do with my comments above, but ok.

Exactly my point in my final paragraph above, especially with better-than-ever SOTA and Mk II, Mk III, etc., every year.. But with many great deals on the used market, it's easy to audition and if it doesn't work out, pass it on.
