Title should say ".....my Streamer/DAC".
Sorry about that!!
Need help with Roon, system output is not showing by Streamer/DAC
I can’t play digital music thru my 2-channel system. My Roon server is my iMac desktop computer. When I click on the "system output" (on the bottom right of the Roon window), it no longer shows my Metrum Ambre Streamer. A couple of days ago, I restarted my computer, and it did bring up by Metrum streamer. Now it doesn’t work. I not a computer whiz, so I am at a loss. Meanwhile, I have no music thru my 2-channel system.
My system is Metrum Ambre streamer (on LAN with ethernet cable), Metrum Onyx DAC, Atma-Sphere MP-3 preamp, Atma-Sphere Class D amps, Acoustic Zen Crescendo Mk II speakers.
Please help. Thanks!!
@drubin I tried that, still no luck. Thanks!! |
I'd say reach out to Roon Labs about this @hifinut51 |
@sns Now I am in trouble. I moved the app to trash, now I can’t download it from the internet. |
Usually don't need to trash app, new download most of the time will overwrite old app, this after pop up box asking if you want to overwrite. In any case, I had same issue as you at one time, I have Roon Core, Endpoint and Remote Control each loaded on own device, reloading Roon Remote control did the trick for me. Try to reload Core again without removing to trash, see if it will overwrite. Also, go to router interface at 168.1.1 and see if your streamer is seen on network. |
Maybe do the following; • Restart Everything Power cycle your Metrum Ambre, your iMac (Roon server), and your network router/switch. This often resolves network discovery issues. • Check Network Connections Make sure the Ambre is connected via Ethernet (not Wi-Fi) and the cable is secure. • Verify Ambre is Powered On Confirm the Ambre’s lights are on and it’s functioning. • Roon Settings In Roon, go to Settings > Audio and see if the Ambre appears under “Roon Ready” or “Networked” devices. If not, click the refresh button in that section. • Disable VPNs/Firewalls Ensure there are no VPNs or strict firewalls running on your iMac that could block Roon from seeing network devices. • Check for Software Updates Make sure both Roon and your Ambre are running the latest firmware/software. • Multicast Routing If you use a custom router, ensure “Enable Multicast Routing” is turned on in your router settings, as Roon needs this for device discovery. • Reinstall Roon (if needed) As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall Roon on your iMac. Sometimes a fresh install restores device visibility. I hope this helps

Have you gone into Roon's Settings > Audio to see if the Metrum is shown there and enabled? If you are still having trouble, check out Roon's own community at https://go.roonlabs.com/Roon/community |
I recently had the same issue with my Mac -- all the endpoints disappeared. Elsewhere in comments (I forget exactly), the solution was: On your Mac: go to Settings --> Privacy. Go to "Local Network" Toggle Roon on/off, then quit Roon. Reopen Roon, and all your speakers/endpoints, should be there. Hope this helps! |
@libor35 thanks!! It worked!!😁 |
