Speaker suggestions for MC275 Mark VI

Recently purchased Mcintosh MC275 Mark VI and am looking for speakers in the 10k range. Im currently favoring these two:

Fyne Audio F703

Sensitivity (2.83 Volt @ 1m) 94dB Nominal impedance 8 Ohm

MONITOR AUDIO Platinum PL300 II

Sensitivity (1W@1M) 90 dB Nominal Impedance

4 ohms (4.2 ohms min. @ 111 Hz)

I'll be sitting about 10 feet away and I like clarity and detail.

let me know what you think

ptatztxt

no idea. But I would think Monitor Audio is a very different beast.

Sonus Faber?

Between these two, I'd go with Fyne

research:

might be able to find Used Dynaudio Countour 60i for <$10k

Bran new pair of Focal Sopra 2 on here for $12K. You can find them used for less.

TMR has Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Concert Grand Reference for ~ $9K

Countours have a sensitivity (dB @ 2.83V/1m) at 88db...don't I need more power for these?

What makes Sopra a good pairing with this amp?

Focal have a reputation for being detailed which, I think , can be interpreted as overly bright. This might be why @mofojo says they are a good match for Tubes. They have a wonderful sweet spot at certain db and mine were sensitive to placement.

I run my Focals 926s with a Mullard tubed pre and class A/B power. I have always been interested in hearing them with tubed power.

Years ago I heard are pair of Dynaudio fronted by Octave Audio tube amps at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. Also a very impressive combo. Can’t remember the exact model of speakers but they were moderate sized towers. Basically hotel room config.

I started reading it and thought some of it was relevant. At least you can ping those guys who had tubes Mc and B&W.

I know nothing about McIntosh, other than it's rock solid. I had B&W, wasn't in love with them (just a matter of taste) but they are great too.

Do you think they would work with my amp? If so, why? Does my amp have enough power?

Tubes watts play bigger than SS, so I've heard.

Should be fine if you stay below 90 dB peaks.

Before I bought my speakers I heard them paired with Macintosh.

Sounded absolutely wonderful.
