They are called "pinholes" and are more likely a manufacturing defect. The very few CD's of mine that I have seen this on play fine as the data correction in the cd player can usually fill in these gaps.

@tpreaves I did. From what I read and the photos I saw on line didn't look like what I see on my disc. It's only about the size of a pencil tip where the aluminum is missing. |
