I hate rap but before rap: The Jags "The Rapper". I can't remember which Phili. member formed another one-hit band with "Ahlea" ("here we go again") but THAT was another excellent one-hit with great production.
And lets not forget Gary and the Playboys "This Diamond Ring". Still unique and listenable (and I hate that era).
I have to thank everyone for making my fav's list:
"Green eyed lady" sugarloaf Iseekheils
"spirit in the sky" normal greenb Reubent
"sky high" by jigsaw Jmslaw
"vehicle" The ides of march Fmpnd
"blinded by the light" Manfred manns earthband Jeffloistarca
"Smoke of a distant fire" sanford townsend band Ghostrider45
"twilight zone" golden earing Exertfluffer
Buscis2 - 'til Tuesday had all great albums as does Aimee Mann (bassist and singer of 'tT). If you haven't heard them, you are really missing out. 'tT only got better and better. (Too cerebral for radio pop).
