HIGH DEF DVD...WHATS THE LATEST NEWS?

Hello all,
I have not heard anything lately about High Definition Blue Ray and HD DVD players.
What is the latest news about them?
When are they expected to be released in the US, and at what prices?
Will they be able to play normal DVD's and perhaps SACD's and DVD-Audio discs as well?

I might be waiting this one out a bit. I bet winners and losers will be settled by something like: which one is adopted into the most popular game system.

Sony pushes PS3 launch back to November. That will keep many Blu-Ray players off the market till then. PERHAPS they are waiting to intro new displays that take 1080p input? (Who knows?)
