Can someone tell me why Tidal MQA shows as 96Khz when using a non-MQA DAC?

I'm curious about this. On one of my DACs--the non-MQA one--MQA files stream at 96Khz. Any intel will be appreciated!

I imagine the MQA pass through also works. Best, E
