New old or old new?

  Hello, In terms of sound and resale which system would you choose 1 to 5  year old electronics and 35 to 45 year old speakers or vise versa?   Resale could be each component of the system or system as a whole. Assuming everything is very good quality and condition.

WTF?
If it sounds good don't sell it.
OR regret it.
If you want to get most of your money back, don't buy in the first place.
Then you'll have 100% of it.
If you don't spend it, all you got is a pot of gold.
You would feel better philanthropizing.

Everyone knows old Klipschorns with a new Raven amp is better than new Wilsons with an old Dynaco. Its true for sound quality. Its true for resale.

I don't know if you looked at Rhodes system page, but I would take any of his three pairs of speakers any day.  Just stunning in my opinion.  Go large or go home.

Crap, I'm getting old. Or, I just know how to get great sound!
My speakers are over 60 years old originals and my power amps are 50+ years old. Admittedly, rebuilt.
