Advice on a preamp

I am looking to replace my preamp as part of my next upgrade(itis). I am currently using an Opera Consonance Reference50MkII tube pre into a Sanders Magtech Amp to drive Monitor Audio PL300 speakers (3 way, 4 ohm). Does anyone here have any good experiences with a particular preamp with the Magtech? I listen mainly to Classical, Jazz, Blues & Rock. Cheers

No one suggested a McIntosh or an Audio Research preamp. Is that because of the price or incompatibility? Just curious.

I just got an ARC Ref5SE this week and am running it with a Sanders Magtech. My initial impressions are that it's quite a step up from my Aesthetix Calypso Signature (weightier and purer sounding), but I'll need to do further testing.
Limniscate, does your Aesthetix has noise issue.  From time to time, I heard people talking about importance of tube matching, and the consequence off mismatch.  I am considering to get one.

Audition the Sanders sound pre!

 I absolutely love mine!
one of the best phono sections in the biz!

She is a literal straight wire with gain, as all preamps should be.

I have three preamps in rotation, most are older,, Sanders sound pre the newest.

 B&K pro10mc
onkyo P-308
McCormack LD-2

mccormack, dedicated roll main system is amazing!

onkyo is simply amazing, does add a bit of low end, resulting in an amazing rich sound.
B&K is good, but needs a recap. She was bought new in early mid 90’s. Workhorse!

 Sanders is accurate and honest!
need to hit the volume to really hit the bass needed and wanted
,,Sanders pre is superb, minus the bass extension nil at low volume, she is one of the best preamps I’ve owned!

Used or new, the Sanders pre is amazing. .

As far as needing volume for more bass extension, after a couple months (not believed by Roger) after about 100 hours, the Sanders is amazing.

Try the matching Pre by Roger.
She is amazing. Please allow a minimum of 100 hours for best sound.

mnay people sell before break in.
Give the Sanders sound pre time to warm up and stabilize.
