Will streaming ever be "audiophile-worthy"?

With the rise in hi-res services (such as TIDAL and Amazon HD) and an ever-expanding selection of portable gear (HiFiMan’s DEVA headphones being just the latest tech to be introduced), has streaming finally come of age for the audiophile market?
My take is, it already is...
I don't know about the portable devices, but listening to Qobuz (hi-rez files) yesterday through a world-class digital front end was surprisingly and enthusiastically good. Naturalness, frequency response, dynamics, details etc, at unexpected levels.

It reminded me of my excitement listening to the Goldmund Reference TT through Goldmund electronics 30 years ago!

And all this, through low-end Proac speakers (top-notch amplification, though). Regards

I agree, it already is.  I used Tidal for a while and prefer Amazon HD but streaming is a fantastic source - in fact it's my only source!
