Soundlab Dynastats

I have just moved a pair of Soundlab Dynastat speakers into my listening room.
I am guessing they are 20 years old but not sure.
Can anyone offer background on the speakers and suggestions on setup?
Thanks in advance for your input.

If they are the 6’ tall Dynastat version less than 2’ wide, maybe 3" thick, and can be bi-wired..., they may benefit from really good solid state amplification. Placement and direction towards the listener can also be room and amplification dependent. i.e. depends on amp(s) are being used too.

My local dealer has been a Soundlab dealer for as long I can remember. Heard various new and reconditioned models with higher power (80-100w) mono block tube amps with big transformers primarily. Maybe once a while ago with a single 200wpc Pass Lab amp. I remember thinking I wanted to hear them again with a pair of 200wpc monos.

I was there to demo my own Quicksilver Mono 120 amps on a larger pair of the Majestic 845PX (94") tall versions, and while they were interesting sounding, I kept thinking I’d like to hear the shorter/narrow ones with only 100wpc tube power.

+1 mike_in_nc,
what he said, pop over to the SLO group for sure.

If the speakers are in good condition, not needing restoration or panels replaced, may be worthy of some nice amplifiers to yield their best sound. I hope to own a pair of nice SoundLabs some day. :) Good Luck.

When I had the space, I didn’t have the funds. Now I have the funds (at least for a good used pair), I don’t have the space. Oh, well -- I hope you do get a nice pair!
