Never respond on these forums, but do use lot of tweaks.
Near-live main system, will keep up with Raidho 35K speakers when testing same cd at Axpona (at least on clean cds),
Projector based home theater system, good to very good, but not great
figured should reply for mapman and others
Bought AR-888 few years ago, demo, so trial from MD, the large online seller. Curious due to positive reviews, and to date the most expensive tweak ever bought. Had DirectTV then and tried out ARROW show. Put the AR-888 on a cabinet (maybe 4 feet up) at back of room. Was shocked to hear much more details in the sound of the show. Turned out ARROW was far more complicated mix than I thought. Also turns out it helps the picture quality. Have tested on 2001 movie (pretty clean bluray, not grainy like 2010). Can see more 3-dimensional image and more vivid colors. Is definitely more pleasing to watch with AR-888 on. Whenever I have tested it, can usually tell improved sound and picture quality.
Do not use on main system. Have tried and was better separation of images. But heavily boosted the bass. Small room and had to turn down sub too much and I like the sub effect. If can counter that, may use AR-888 someday again. Not hard to move if want.
Is strange and not sure why works. Low frequency EM signal, doable if look at half price Indonesian Chartes V (wish knew about that one to save money) due to electronic trace circling inside around and around to get large EM wave. Chartes V does show sine wave. Expensive ones claim to be more accurate. Not sure about cheap ones; tend to like trial periods. Tempted to get a second like Chartes V sometime, but read one review where tried 888 and previous model and person got nauseous.
Again, perhaps the oddest tweak I have and not sure at all why works, but it does work. If you can get cheaper and still works, clearly that is best.
PS have even suspected it helped when listening to a quality DAP recently, but would have to keep testing that, since surprising
