Full Range vs Trad xover design

had the SEAS Thor MTM past 25 yrs, upgarded Millennium tweets = $700 + all Mundorf silver gold cap, maybe get somerthing more out that top of line Seas 87 db MTM. Spent $1500+ on upgrades.
Today arrived the DavidLouis 6.5 Full Ranfe,
Hooked it up to one of the biwres, disconnecting the tweet xover.
The Millennium is SEAS top of line tweet, just below their newer version Cresendo both 87 db. The EXCEL 6.5 are 87 db
The DL FR is 93 db.
Results,
The SEAS tweet sounds likea  wet blamet is covering the unit as compared to the DL 93 db midtweet <,FR>> qwhich it is not, has  little bass, although it is NOT ina  cabinet yet, just sitting on  top of Speaker.
Cabinet will granta  tad more bass.
Resuults The DL FR blows away the SEAS Millennium mid range tweet, and Its my belief the DL will  shoot out any top of line midtweet offered by Scan Speak and SEAS. = Conventional lower than 90 db xover mid tweet are <<Dinasaurs>>  Out dated, dsyfunctional, = Junk .
FR is The New Kid on the Block. xovers only interfer with the purity of the music, Grant it there the FR is not <<perfect>>,. but its the best we have to date.
More videos comming next week
I plan to get the 10 inch FR and add a  tweet, maybe the Vifa comming next week from same seller.
anyone interested in my Thors please let me know, they'll just sit in attic collecting dust.
Any speaker lower than 90 db is <,Dinasaur>> You need to get rid ot it.
91 db ses is the threshold.

I love my Ref 3A de Capos 92db run them with 4 watt Decware amp plenty of sound not Ted Nugent loud but good
No "crossover" but have "just a single capacitor used as a high pass filter for the tweeter"

OK Single Cap + 92 db, = Not tradition/conventional speaker  as in my reference,
Perhaps , in fact your Ref A3 is not the speakers i am attacking.
I am going after any/all speakers that have more than 1 cap and are not at least 91 db. You are at 92db which passes the sensitivity threshold of <<at least 92db>>>
= all FR are over 93db
Conventional/traditional <<Box design>>> are all under 91 db and have multiple xover components .
= Dinasaurs = Out dated = dysfunctional = High Distortion,,what we are all after is <<High Fidelity>> ( old Philips terminology)
FR = High Fidelity
xover/conventuiional box = Low Fidelity.
Here is the link to my 2nd DL FR, the above link did not load properly on YT
This is the link
'Cabinets took about  1 hour each x2 = 2 hours pair to build,,don't look nice, gaps all over, but they sound great, even fantastic. Bass has now kicked in.
These DL FR blow away the Seas double 6.5 + SEAS Millennium tweets.
Thats a $2500 upgraded speaker with Mundorf high priced caps, and brand new Millenniums.
The single DL blows away the Seas.
Blows away any conventional, including all/every B&W ever made.

Hey Erik You have been right alll along, this whole time, you've been staright up shooting down the gimicks, the frauds,  in <<high priced speaker designs.
You exposed the schemes, the scams.
Fact is
1 FR say 10 inch at 93db+
= 2 10  inch 86db woofers from Scan speak and SEAS.
Scan Speak has their new Elliptior 8 inch mid bass, 95db!!!! Newest design from that old faithful lab..
However ya gonna pay for that one.
$1100 EACH!!!
I can get a  DL FR  8,10 or 12 under $500 pair includes ship.
The 12 will blow out the water any bass from that Elliptior, if bass is what you are looking for,
Its a  nice try from Sacn speak, but IMHO these newest FR designs, from DL and others are <,The 21st century>> speaker design.
I would not ever consider going back to traditional labs for speakers,
Not when i can get budget priced FR which have 93db++ sensitivity.
You say you need a  new tweak to your system, new cables, wires, new cd player, new amp..preamp tubes etc etc. Don't watse 1 penny in any of these <<tweaks>> you ain't going to get evena nuance pinch.
What you need  are new speakers
Yep, sure do folks
Your speakers is the polluter in your sound imaging.
Speaking only to tube amp folks, yes all you Jadis owners.
For any/all tube amps, the only speaker which you can imploy are <<Full Range>>> and nothing else,
CD palyers, amps, tubes all sound pretty close the same, Yes my $9k Defy7 sounds pretty close to Richard Gray's loan tube amps, like Dynaco EL34 his Organ mono block amps, , both sound pretty close to the Defy.
You can get a  used chinese kt88 amp + a  tube cd player either cayin or Shanling + DavidLouis FR and have a  super high fidelity system all under $3k, blowing away systems that cost 10x's as much
= spending more might, no wait, usually does  result in <<Less>>
Trad speakers will voice polluted, distortion, very ineffient.
any speaker under say 90 db is <,Dinasaur>>  I;'m being generous allowing 91/92 db trad speakers  some slack.
But honestly a  93db FR will out perform any 92db traditional xover speaker, and that bya  nice margin.
Don't believe me, Go experiment, You can purchase a pair of DL FR say 6.5, abit small, go 8 inch, add any tweet on top and set  1 channel DL vs your trad xpver speaker,,now employ balance contriol.
You will be  blown away.
$300 gamble and trust me you'll be blown away. You'll dump your xover design in a  NY minute.
xovers = something fundamentally wrong with the driver. Its not designed properly to produce high fidelity.
xovers only distort, they twist the musical image into weird shapes , forcing the driver along paths which make the sound image in-efficent. / now the amp has to push harder = stress, fatifue factor on your ears.
xovers are <,Dinasaurs>>
Ahahahahahahah

Hey Eric you;ll get evena  better lol out of the above post.
There I got your back on all your posts past few years,
You were right alllll along.
xovers are the problem. = Dysfunctional.
SEAS wants $800 each for their 8 inch FR, I can get a  pair of DavidLouis 8's for  less than $400 and may in fact sound better.
OK I know i want the DavidLouis 8 with Alnico magnet,,now I need to search fora  super high sensitivty tweeter,, but not pay alot,,I have his Vifa clone arriving  next week, rated 91 db, that might be the answer He sells the Vifa clone for $45 pair includes ship!!!!!!!!
I will post a  YT vid upon hooking her up to the 6.5 FR cabinet.
Richard Gray advises to avoid the DavidLouis Titanium Horn,, Richard has heard TI horns in the  past and strongly advises that I avoid, which I will do.
