If I bought a new Jadis amp, and came with a scratch, would not bother me in the least I am after asethetics of actual sound perf, not asethetics in construction, Same here with the Klipsch woofer. It is perfornace which would either make me happy or grate on my nerves.
Sure the off center framing would affect resale value.
But at this stage in audio experience, we should all be purchasing lifetime til death do we part speakers.
AS a matter of fact, next time i swap out power tubes in the Defy7, I suggested to Richard, lets install new pots which are far superior to Jadis' stock bias controls and also same time, lets drill holes in the sides of the amp, near the trans and install 2 handles for easy transport.
Seems Jadis failed to install handles on the amp, Yeah I know, the french are all about *the beauty of the aesthetics*
WEll how do they figure we are suppose to haul around a 70 lb amplifier with NO HANDLES???
Lucky Richard has in his stash a pair of silver chrome handles from another amplifer.
DEfy7 with handles = resale value increases
