Whats on your turntable tonight?

The earliest pressings of Love it to Death were on the Straight label (Zappa imprint) and have a very lively sound. Not so easy to find these in unmolested condition, but if you do a search you'll see some discussion of the album as a WLP with Randy Kling's signature as mastering engineer in the deadwax. Brilliant guitars in unison- at the time of release, I thought of them as a novelty act. I was not worthy. :)

@whart  I admit that my appreciation of Alice has increased over the years.

I have quite a few Alice albums.  I saw them three times in concert, each for the album tour:  Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, and Welcome To My Nightmare.

Phenomenal concerts which, at the time, Alice called it "Rock Theater".

Performing "Cold Ethyl" holy cow, that was really something.

i also, sadly thought of them as theater…
