@stuartk Right place, right time. You know, a few years before Philly when I was in high school, I took an address of the back of an album and wrote to one of my other idols, Steve Khan, about taking lessons. He said he could do it and also suggested Bill Connors and John Abercrombie as also available to give lessons! This was back in 1983 or so.

I just ordered "Two for the Road" by Coryell and Khan, which was recently reissued on CD.

I love Connors' playing-- wish I could've seen RTF with Connors. 

I saw Abercrombie just once, with Gateway Trio (also the only time I've seen deJohnette). 

Check out "Colossus" with Gene Ludwig. Gene and Pat both KILL on it!

I've never heard of Ludwig-- will investigate. Thanks for the suggestion!
